Frozen

the fridge in snow by the curb
its door off, some cubes
still in the trays
the cab inching away
your hand waving
it all back:
the fan humming
in my room
pigeons cooing
the click of steps
in the hall
your voice.

Gelé (à temps)

un frigo dans la neige
au bord du trottoir
sa porte arrachée
quelques glaçons toujours
dans les plateaux
le taxi s’éloigne  (away,)
peu à peu
ta main lui fait signe
de reculer:
le ventilateur  ronronne
dans ma chambre
les pigeons  roucoulent
le clic-clac de tes pas
dans le couloir
ta voix.
