Now

I live in the moment
there’s only Now

the clock, stopped
all beginnings, forgotten .

The morning has left with faces
I no longer see, voices I no longer hear.

Even the street is Now:
the trash bags, vanished

the hand carefully untying one
sifting through it and tying it up again —

gone.

Maintenant

Je vis dans l’instant
il n’ y a plus que Maintenant

La pendule, arrêtée
oubliés, tous les débuts.

Ce matin s’en est allé avec les visages
que je ne vois plus, les voix que je n’entends plus.

Même la rue est Maintenant:
les sacs-poubelles, disparus

et la main, qui ouvrait l’un d’eux avec soin
fouillait à l’intérieur et puis le refermait  —

disparue.
