like the sound of surf
from the round wall of the sea
on wet sand rising,
the full sky sailing
in its clouds,
the hushed street
in footsteps

through this room of cups & pills
the curtain billowing
falling to the sill

tel le bruit des vagues
de la muraille marine
qui se lève sur le sable mouillé,
le ciel lourd navigant
dans ses nuages,
la rue amortie
sous ses pas

à travers cette chambre de fioles et de pilules
le rideau qui se gonfle
