the long hands of tunnels, bridges, rails
and streets pointing

away

train-window-hands waving
goodbye

“Yes, I’ll write”

your hand at the corner hailing
a cab: “taxi, taxi”

the small hand of its door opening
closing.

Comme les choses s’accrochent à toi

les longues mains des tunnels, des ponts, des rails
et des rues qui indiquent

ailleurs

les mains aux fenêtres des trains
qui disent au revoir

“Mais oui, j’écrirai”

ta main au coin qui hèle un taxi
“taxi, hé! taxi”

la petite main de la portière qui s’ouvre
et se ferme
